Bone Color Change To Differentiate From Other Bones And The Character
Chances are high that you will build a complex character with DragonBones that has many bones on it. With the amount of bones it becomes harder to pick and choose the correct bone
|
DragonBones example project itself is the bests example for this.
|
Here is the same example with colorized bones.
|
above example with colored bones |
It is far easier to read than the first example. In addition to this when the character is mainly white and your default bone color is grayish then it even more blends and bones almost become invisible to our eye. So coloring bone especially with white characters is a good practice
Change Bone Color For Visually Boned Groups
The bone color can be changed to mark a certain parent bone and all it's childs to be of the same group. There is no technical "grouping" here. Don't get me wrong. But a visual grouping for the user, for you and your eyes.
For instance you could colorize the upper arm, then all the connected bones like lower arm and hand in one color, let's say in green.
|
Left Arm and all it's children are visually grouped as green |
Extend this idea. We could now say "All arms should be green" like this
|
All Arm limbs are visually grouped as green
|
And we can even further extend this logic to "All arms green, All legs orange"
So as you see it makes it easier to pick and choose bones when they have colors applied. Even better is the understanding when bones are "visually grouped".
That's All Fine And How Do I Color A Bone Now?
Very simple.
Check if you have the property panel opened. If not open it under Window > Property.
Then if you have not made a bone already make a bone with the bone maker tool.
When you pick a bone the property panel will show properties (as the name suggests) of that chosen element. A bone has a property field for its color. Click on that color (by default gray)
Color picker window will open. Choose whatever color you like, click ok and you have successfully changed the bone color.
